So-called “hosts of people” who were accused of gaining about 34 hundred million won in illegal-profits from stock price manipulation by overstating the contract that they made with the company where the famous Hallyu star Bae Yong Joon is a major shareholder, and illegal trading (通情賣買. suehan: I don’t know the stock terms, but it means they exchanged information or promise to manipulate the stock price) were exposed by the district attorneys.
On the 30th of last month, the criminal division 5 of the Seoul Southern District Court (Judge Kim Joo Won) stated that they arrested and charged the former CEO Mr. Han (39) of Goje which is producer and distributor of red ginseng for the violation of the capital market and finance investment law.
The prosecution said that the private lender Mr. Min (36) who received the stock price manipulation request from Mr. Han, financer, and an operation member were arrested for the same charges. They also stated that two brokers were charged without detention and one broker was issued an arrest warrant after the stay of prosecution.
According to the prosecution, they made a trademark license contract and an exclusive sales contract with Gorilla last November, in which Bae Yong Joon is a major shareholder. They were charged for false public announcement of an improbable supply contract without agreeing with Gorilla.

BYJ visited France in 2008?
I got this hint from Koo nim’s blog. She has a very good memory and ability to trace down incidents. Clap clap clap clap.
Last year, I also read a posting (http://blog.naver.com/lotelote/40095974788) indicating that YJ visited a winery in France in 2008. At that time, I had doubts about the credibility of the story since it was from the internet, but a sommelier atom nim helped us to determine the truth.

The copyright infriengement lawsuit which was filed by Bae Yong Joon and his agency against G travel agency was concluded through “mediation”.
The civil division 13 of the Seoul Central District Court stated that the mediation has been completed. The agreement was that G company pays 10 million won for the damages and is prohibited to use Bae Yong Joon’s picture, name and nickname on the internet.
Bae Yong Joon filed a copyright infringement lawsuit for one hundred million won for the damages when G company used BYJ’s name on their website as an incentive to appeal to Japanese tourists last year.

The owners of Gemseong Market were humble and diligent couple. (Once the store became popular) it seemed like they might have changed. It happened after their store appeared in the movie that Bae Yong Joon took a leading role. The outside of the store has gotten colorful ever since the Japanese aunties came to the store by the groups, and watched the store from a distance. The couple looked like they had a stiff-neck.
But, it didn’t last long. A few months later, the store returned to the old days as the rest area of the local residents. At that time, I asked the owner how the business was for those days. Male owner was embarrassed by saying, “It was just a hassle, and we didn’t make much money.” The couple was humble and diligent like before. Bae Yong Joon is blowing the Hallyu wind once again. His travel essay book has expanded to China following Japan. Let’s take a look.

His company’s revenue for the first quarter in 2010 was over 8.1 billion won. Most entertainers either buy their houses or invest their money in the real estate market for investment purposes when they start making money. ‘Dream High’ will start the shooting at the end of October and will be broadcasted from January 3rd next year. It consists of 16 episodes.
With the art school background, it will describe the growing process of four talented students. It is a youth drama that two males and two female students lead. These four students will challenge each other for love and friendship, one of them will become a winner of 2017 Grammy Awards, which is best music award, and he/she will stand as the best entertainer worldwide.
The name of the main cast who stands up as a worldwide star is ‘Kay (Key?)’. But this ‘Kay’ among these four students will not be disclosed until the middle of the drama, and will be disclosed in the last episode, 16th episode.

On the 3rd, Division 12 of the Seoul Central Court Civil Division (Judge, Park Hee Seung) ruled in partial favor of Hallyu star Bae Yong Joon and his agent, Keyeast who filed a lawsuit against the S advertisement company. The court ordered the defendant to pay thirty million won and prohibited them to use his images on the internet.
Last December, Bae Yong Joon and his agent, Keyeast filed a lawsuit against the S company for the invasion of publicity right and claimed one hundred million won for its damages. In the lawsuit, they complained that defendants were using his images, name, and his nickname, ‘Yonsama’.
The S company filed a cross-complaint against the plaintiffs asking for one hundred million won. They complained that ‘We didn’t violate BYJ’s property right because we only used ‘Yonsama’ without his pictures and his name,

Choi Seong, the mayor of the city of Goyang, signed MOU to support the production of the Hallyu drama ‘Dream High’ in which BYJ and PJY will be appearing.
First step to become a Hallyu cultural city, Goyang.
On September 2, 2010, Choi Seong, the mayor of the city of Goyang signed MOU with Kim Pil Ryo (chairman of Goyang city council), Jeong Wook and Yang Geun Ywan (CEOs of the Hollim, the production company of the drama ‘Dream High’), and Lee Gwan Hoon (CEO of CJ Media) to vitalize the imagery tourism of Goyang at the video conference room in the City Hall. It is the first step for the Hallyu cultural city of Goyang.
The major contents of the MOU are to attract tourists through the imagery tourism, employment creation including making appearances in minor roles, attracting the industry relating the unification of broadcasting, video, and communication, improving the value of the city, and cooperation to vitalize the local economics. International Hallyu stars including Bae Yong Joon and Park Jin Young will be appearing in ‘Dream High’.
To achieve the goal of the imagery tourism, the city of Goyang and production company decided to cooperate for the introduction of the city of Goyang through various methods like operating the Familiarization Tour of the potential areas for the tourist attraction including the lakeside park, Lafesta, Western Dome Street, Latin America Cultural Center, and the Haeju Fortress and using the discovered areas for the shootings sites when the broadcasting of the drama starts.
At the signing ceremony, Choi Seong, the mayor of Goyang, said, “Signing MOU with the production company for the mutual cooperation to support the production of the KBS drama ‘Dream High’ in which Hally Star Bae Yong Joon and the best music producer and singer of Korea, Park Jin Young, appear will be a turning point to make the city of Goyang an international tourism city or Hallyu cultural city.”, and he showed his expectations on the developments to become Hallyu Cultural City, Goyang from the visits of Japanese and Chinese tourists by saying, “If this project is successful, we expect lots of revenues including additional incomes, but it will also make the city of Goyang become a popular Hallyu cultural city.”
